To support increasing demands from research initiatives and instructional technologies, K-State was awarded an NSF grant to enhance our core network infrastructure. This award provided the necessary funding to purchase a pair of high performance routers to replace the Hale and Power Plant core routers. The new routers allow us to increase the core backbone between Hale and Power Plant to an 80Gb port-channel, and enough port density to support future 10Gb upgrades between the core and campus buildings.
NTS will be performing the cutovers to the new Hale and Power Plant core routers on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. The maintenance window is scheduled for 7:00pm 3/17/15 through 2:00am 3/18/15. The maintenance will affect wired and wireless network connectivity on the Manhattan campus, as well as internet connectivity to the Salina and Olathe campuses.
If you have any questions regarding this maintenance, please contact the Network Group at firstname.lastname@example.org
