Internet Slowness Across Campus

There have been several reports of slow internet from users across campus today. The Network team is working to resolve the issue.

Office 365 email issues

The issue has been resolved and service levels are returning to normal.

Tuesday, June 24 2014, 2:45 p.m. Current Status: Microsoft engineers have made several configuration changes in an effort to remediate this issue. Next steps and potential avenues for mitigating end-user impact are being explored at this time. Customer Impact: Affected customers may be unable to send and receive messages being sent through Exchange Online Protection. This will affect inbound messages from external senders as well as sending to external recipients. Additionally, customers running in a hybrid scenario with on-premise mailboxes and those in the Office 365 cloud may see mail delays.

Procera firmware and signature update

This maintenance has been completed.

Tonight, beginning at 9PM, we will be performing a firmware and signature update on the Procera packet filter in order address some issues with the statistics modules.  The update will require that the device be rebooted and Internet connectivity will be interrupted for a period of about 1 minute while it’s coming back online.  If you have any questions or concerns, or notice any problems with Internet connectivity after the update, please send email to security@ksu.edu.

Intermittent Network Outages in Hale Library

Beginning June 9 and continuing for approximately 2 weeks, patrons should expect intermittent network outages on the first and second floors of Hale Library as network connections are being upgraded. These outages are expected to last less than a minute, however they could cause computers to hang and unsaved data to be lost. Patrons are encouraged to save data to a USB flash drive regularly.
