Email Scams

The IT Help desk has received a number of calls concerning scam emails. If you receive email asking you to verify your K-State email account, your password, or asking for other personal information it is a scam. Do not click on the link. Please send the original email with full internet headers to abuse@k-state.edu. Then delete the email.

K-State will never ask you for your password or personal information via email. If you have any questions please call the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722.

Issues Creating eID

This issue has been resolved.

History:

Users are reporting issues when clicking on the "Register now!" link to register for an eID. They receive the error:

SYSTEM ERROR eProfile has encountered a system error, please sign out and try again.

ITS staff have been notified and are working to resolve the issue.

Network maintenance - 02/12/16

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
Network maintenance is planned for tonight, February 12th 2016 at 10 p.m.

K-State People Directory Unavailable

This issue has been resolved.

History:
2/12/2016 at 2:48pm The K-State White Pages are currently unavailable. It gives users the error "The K-State People Directory is currently unavailable. Please try again later." ITS Staff have been notified and are working to resolve the issue.

DHCP Maintenance - 02/10

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing network maintenance that will affect campus wireless networks on Wednesday, February 10th 2016 from 10:00pm to midnight. We will be continuing the process started last week to move DHCP services for the remaining campus wireless networks over to the new platform. The maintenance could potentially affect wireless connectivity as DHCP is re-pointed to the new servers. This maintenance will not affect the Residence Halls, Jardine, Salina, or Olathe.

Network Maintenance - Anderson Hall - 02/09

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
The Network Team will be performing network maintenance in Anderson Hall tonight (02/09/16) from 10pm to midnight. This maintenance will affect network connectivity between the building and the core. Users can expect short interruptions in both wired and wireless connectivity during the maintenance window.

Office 365 Maintenance - 02/13

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
Information Technology Services will perform scheduled maintenance on Office 365 beginning at 10p.m. Saturday, Feb 13. through 10a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14. Office 365 may not be accessible during this time period, but no email will be lost. Thank you to campus for your patience as we work to maintain our ITS systems.

Wireless Network outage Dole Hall and Chalmers Hall

The wireless network issues have been resolved.

The IT Help Desk has received a number of calls about the wireless connection not working in Dole Hall and Chalmers Hall.  ITS Network staff are aware of the problem and working on a resolution.  They hope to have service restored in the next 30 minutes.

The Network team is doing DHCP maintenance tonight. This maintenance could potentially affect wired and wireless connectivity during this time period.
