Connectivity Issues

The DHCP issues have been resolved.
History:
We were experiencing issues with the DHCP service in several buildings.  These initial problems have been addressed, as of noon today (5/31/16).  NTS will be working throughout the week to transition all DHCP services to a new platform.  If you experience issues with connectivity, please notify the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722.

Network Maintenance - Salina Campus - Tues 5/24

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
Cox will be performing network maintenance in Salina on May 24, 2016. The maintenance could affect connectivity to the Salina Campus for a short time between 12:01am and 5:00am.

OpenLDAP Migration - Tuesday 5/24

This update has been completed. Please report any issues regarding this update.

History:
Important Things to Note:
Secure channels such as SSL and TLS are required for access.
Anonymous binds are disabled.
isMemberOf is no longer supported. Please use memberOf instead

History:
The Office of Mediated Education has worked the last several months to replace our aging LDAP infrastructure with OpenLDAP. On May 24th 10am we will point the ldap urls to our new OpenLDAP servers.

Network Maintenance - Vet Met 05/25

This maintenance has been completed.

History:

NTS will be performing maintenance on the wireless infrastructure in the College of Veterinary Medicine Complex on Wednesday (5/25) from 9:00pm to midnight.   This maintenance will cause the access points to reboot.  Wireless users could experience a short loss of connectivity, during this time.  Wired connectivity will be unaffected.

Mediasite Service Migration

This maintenance has been completed.

Mediasite, K-State Online's tool for creating, managing, and distributing video and rich media content, will be migrated to new on-campus systems June 1st - July 4th. During the migration, users are discouraged from uploading new Mediasite content or modifying existing content, as changes may have to be reapplied after the migration is complete. Network Maintenance - Eduroam 5/26

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing upgrades to the authentication servers that support Eduroam connectivity.  This maintenance is scheduled for Thursday(5/26) from 9pm to midnight.  During the maintenance window there will be periods of time in which Eduroam authentication will not be available.  This will affect K-State users traveling to other Eduroam institutions, as well as visitors to our campus that are connecting to the Eduroam ssid.

Network Maintenance - KanREN 5/21

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
KanREN will be performing maintenance on their backbone network on May 21, 2016 from 6:30am to 4:00pm. The connection between KanREN and K-State will remain up during this maintenance. However, we may experience some latency in traffic destined for the internet.

Canvas user interface upgrade - Friday 5/20

The upgrade has been completed.

History:
As announced previously in K-State Today, the Canvas User Interface (UI) will be upgraded at 3:00 p.m Friday, May 20. None of the functionality in K-State Online is changing. The upgrade will only affect the global navigation; courses will not be affected. To learn more about the new UI, visit the K-State Online webpage.

Network Maintenance - KanREN - Wed 5/18

This maintenance has been completed.

History:

KanRen will be performing network maintenance from 12:00pm on 5/18/16 through 11:00pm on 5/19/16. User's network connectivity on the Manhattan, Salina, and Olathe campuses should not be impacted by this maintenance.

Network Maintenance - Thurs 5/19

History:

Network and Telecommunication Services will be performing DHCP server maintenance from 7:00am to 8:00am on Thursday 5/19/16. We do not anticipate any impact to user network connectivity during this maintenance.

K-State InfoCommons and Computer Lab upgrade Thursday 5/19

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
The servers supporting the K-State Infocommons and Computing Labs will be upgraded on Thursday May 19th beginning at 7am. Servers will be upgraded one at a time so no outage is expected though pauses may occur as sessions migrate. Maintenance should be completed around 8:30am.

Webmail Missing Folders

Users are unable to view the full list of folders in Webmail for mailboxes that have over 1,000 folders. In this scenario, only the first 1,000 folders in alphabetical order will be displayed. As a work around users can use the Outlook desktop client to view all folders. Microsoft engineers are working on a solution.

Office 365 Connection Issues

K-State Information Technology Services has been having periodic issues with an application that connects Office 365 with your eID and password.  When these issues occur, it has prevented an unknown number of people from accessing their O365 email.

K-State Information Technology Services has been having periodic issues with an application that connects Office 365 with your eID and password.  When these issues occur, it has prevented an unknown number of people from accessing their O365 email.

There is an upgrade scheduled tonight that will potentially resolve the authentication issues.  Your patience is greatly appreciated.
 

K-State Information Technology Services has been having periodic issues with an application that connects Office 365 with your eID and password.  When these issues occur, it has prevented an unknown number of people from accessing their O365 email.

We have corrected some authentication issues that should alleviate the problem. However we are continuing to work with the vendor to upgrade to a newer version of the authentication server.  In the interim, if your email is blocked from connecting using your Outlook client, please try connecting to your email via webmail.ksu.edu. Thank you for your patience as ITS continues to work to resolve the issue.

Telephone communications between Olathe and the Manhattan campus has been reestablished. ITS staff will address issues as they arise.

ImageNow Maintenance 4/29 - 5/2

The upgrade has been completed.

History:
ImageNow will be upgraded to the latest release, and application servers will be moved to the converged infrastructure this weekend. ImageNow will be unavailable starting at 5:00 PM Friday, April 29th until the upgrade is completed. ImageNow will be available to users by 1:00 AM Monday, May 2nd.
