History:

ITS will be performing infrastructure maintenance on Thursday 01/26/2017 at 7:30 pm services should not be impacted.

Network Maintenance 01/26

This maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing a minor software upgrade to the DHCP servers on Thursday (1/26) from 10:00pm to 11:00pm. The DHCP service is designed for redundancy, so we do not anticipate any service interruption during the maintenance.

History:

Beginning at 9am on Tuesday, Jan 24th we will be migrating Grouper to a new server. Users may notice a slight disruption to their session and will need to re-login as the DNS change propagates.

History:
The Content Management System (CMS) is currently down. ITS staff are working
to resolve the issue, but for now users cannot log in.

V-Block Maintenance - 1/17/17

History:

V-Block maintenance for the Fabric Interconnect B is scheduled for Tuesday Jan. 17th at 10 am. No downtime is expected during this maintenance.

Phishing Scams

Recently we have seen an increase in phishing scams, such as the K-State Alerts phishing scam. Remember - Kansas State will never ask for a password via email. If you receive an email asking for your password, delete it immediately. Check the K-State Phishing Scams Blog to see recent scams.

Trend Micro

This issue has been resolved.

History:
The IT Help desk has received several calls about Trend Micro clients not working properly on Windows computers.  In each case, the Trend Micro a red "No" symbol over it.  The second icon in the Smart Scan Icons section of this Trend Micro article matches the icon: http://docs.trendmicro.com/all/ent/officescan/v10.6/en-us/osce_10.6_olhsrv/ohelp/clients/clicons.htm.   This indicates that Real-Time Scan is disabled, but the KSU client does not seem to have an option to enable the scan anywhere in the console or in the icon right-click menu.

All the problem clients found so far are connected to the KSU-OS04.ads.ksu.edu server, and they have the 11.0.1050 Service Pack 1 update installed.

Mediasite Storage Connectivity - 1/12/17

This issue has been resolved.

History:
Mediasite is currently experiencing storage connectivity issues, which may result in problems loading images and other resources as well as creating content. ITS is working on resolving the issue as quickly as possible and apologizes for any inconvenience.

Trend Micro URL blocking issue

This has been resolved.

History:
'Trend Micro has been made aware of the potential false URL blocking. Some users may have experienced pop-up messages blocking a URL or malicious file. Trend is working on a resolution and we will send an update when more information is available.

Phishing Scam reportedly from President Myers

Please keep alert for phishing scams. Recently there has been a phishing scam sent to people at the university asking for them to open an attachment from President Richard B. Myers. DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT. This email is fraudulent and the attachment is malicious. See https://blogs.k-state.edu/scams/ for information about the scam as well as other scams that have been sent in to the university. Please contact the IT Help Desk if you clicked on the attachment or responded to the email.

Hale Computer Maintenance

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
Beginning today at 7:30am, most of the computers in Hale Library and Seaton 022 will be down for maintenance. During this time computers will be available on the 3rd floor of Hale Library as well as in Dickens 001.

Network Maintenance - 1/11/17

This maintenance has been completed. 

History:
NTS will be performing maintenance on the wireless service starting at 10:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday (1/11). This campus wide maintenance will affect the “KSU Wireless” SSID/Network. Once this maintenance is completed, users could be prompted to accept a new SSL certificate. This certificate acceptance is required before the user's credentials can be passed to the new server for authentication.

History:
 NTS will be performing network maintenance at Throckmorton Hall on Saturday (1/7/17) from 7:00am to 3:00pm. The maintenance will affect both wired and wireless connectivity. Network service will be unavailable for periods of time throughout the maintenance window.

KSIS Maintenance - 01/07/2017

Maintenance has been completed.

History:
ISO will be performing maintenance on KSIS on Saturday, January 7th from approximately 6 a.m. - 9 a.m. We do not anticipate any downtime, however, processes that are scheduled to be ran during the maintenance window should be placed on hold or rescheduled.
