Network Maintenance - 08/25

Maintenance has been completed in the Engineering Hall
History:
NTS will be performing network maintenance that will affect the 3rd floor of Engineering Hall from 10pm to 11pm tonight (8/25/17). 
Users will experience periodic disruptions to both wired and wireless connectivity during the maintenance window.

Papercut Printing Issues

The issues have been resolved.

History:
ITS is investigating reports of a few eIDs not syncing with Papercut and some print jobs timing out or not displaying when sent to the release stations. Please contact or visit the IT Help Desk in Hale Library if you are experiencing problems printing.

Wireless Network Maintenance - 08/18

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing maintenance on the wireless for all of Housing on Friday, August 18th from 6:00-7:00 a.m.  This maintenance will affect all wireless in Housing buildings excluding Jardine and the Strong Complex.  This maintenance will also affect most of the in room wired ports in the following halls:

Ford

Honors House

Haymaker

Marlatt

Moore

Wefald

West

Users can expect intermittent connectivity during this time.

Converged Infrastructure VBlock Upgrade 07/24 to 09/08

The converged infrastructure VBlock system will be undergoing an upgrade from 07/24/2017 9:00 AM to 09/08/2017. Various components will be upgraded throughout the two week period. It will affect all systems running in the converged infrastructure. No outages are expected, but if it becomes required we will send additional notifications.

Network firewall maintenance on 08/14

K-State Information Technology Services will be replacing the firewall at the campus border in the early morning hours of Monday, August 14.  This will disrupt all campus connections to the internet.  The maintenance window is scheduled for 8/14/2017 from 12:01 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Emergency Firewall Maintenance

ITS will be doing some emergency firewall maintenance.  We don't expect any outages from these changes, but if you do see issues sharply increase, notify the IT Help Desk.

Network Maintenance - 08/10/17

K-State Information Technology Services will be replacing the firewall at the campus border in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 10.  This will disrupt all campus connections to the internet and will impact anyone on the campus network attempting to connect to services off campus as well as anyone off campus trying to connect to services hosted here.  The maintenance window is scheduled for 8/10/2017 from 12:01 a.m. until 6:00 a.m.

NTS will be performing network maintenance in the following buildings this evening (8/9) from 10:00pm to 11:00pm:

This maintenance will affect both wired and wireless connectivity for short periods during this timeframe.

Network maintenance 08/14 and 08/15

This upgrade has been rescheduled for Monday, August 14th and Tuesday, August 15th. The secondary device will be upgraded on the 14th. The forced failover will happen Tuesday morning at 8:15, with the primary upgrade following. 

Network Maintenance - 08/03

This has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing maintenance on the campus DHCP environment on Thursday August 3^th, 2017 from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.  We do not anticipate any impact to user network connectivity during this maintenance.

Network Maintance 8/2 to 8/3

 The portion of the upgrade that was supposed to be completed today is hung due to a few unexpected issues. The maintenance that was scheduled for tomorrow is postponed until these issues can be resolved.

History:
The software on the data center load-balancers is going to be upgraded this week. The passive secondary device will be upgraded on Wednesday August 2nd starting at 10am. On August 3rd EST will failover the pair to the secondary at 8:15am and then upgrade the primary. Services will not experience an outage, however existing connections will not transfer during the forced failover, causing these active connections to be severed momentarily.
