Network Maintenance - Engineering

 The network maintenance has been completed.

History: 
 
NTS will be performing network maintenance tonight, Tuesday December 18, from 9:30pm to 10:30 pm in the Engineering Complex.   The maintenance will impact wired and wireless devices that are connected to network equipment located in the basement of the engineering complex.

System Slowness Issues

The IT Help Desk has received calls about system slowness. Some systems include Enterprise Information System, Teval, Admissions, Telecom.  ITS staff are aware of the issue and working to resolve the issue and apologizes for the inconvenience. 

Network Maintenance Engineering Complex - 11/20

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing network maintenance on Tuesday, November 20th, from 8pm to 10pm in the Engineering Complex.   The maintenance will impact network services for devices that are connected to the wired infrastructure.   Wireless services will not be impacted by this maintenance.

Catfiles/Isilon Upgrade 11/27/2018

 This has been completed.
History
ITS will be upgrading catfiles/Isilon upgrade on 11/27/2018 starting a 6:00 PM  here shouldn’t be any disruptions to service, but we recommend saving / closing things you may have open on catfiles (workarea, home, apps, etc).

THOMPSON HALL SERVICE INTERRUPTION 11/21/2018

Thomas Hall will have service interruption of electricity on 11/21/2018 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Electrical panels are being replaced due to age various offices may be without electrical power for the duration.  This outage will affect anything using electricity such as computers, servers, lighting, heating, air conditioning and more.

Mediasite Maintenance 11/19/2018

 This maintenance has been completed.
History:
Mediasite will undergo an update on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5 a.m. until approximately 7 a.m. Users may experience intermittent interruptions of various Mediasite functions (playback, upload, editing, etc.) during the maintenance window.

Thompson Hall Electricity - 11/17

Bushnell Annex, Leasure Hall service interruption notification

Electricity will be shut off from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Bushnell Annex, and approximately 5:30-7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Leasure Hall.

Fiber Repairs - 10/25

 Maintenance has been completed.
History:
Emergency fiber repairs will be performed starting at midnight, through 6am tomorrow morning (10/25/18).  This maintenance will impact connectivity between the Manhattan and Salina campuses.  During the maintenance, users on the Salina campus will experience service outages to Manhattan campus resources and the internet.

Monday evening, October 22nd, between 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM, the security team will be performing a software update to the Palo Alto border firewalls to apply bug fixes and added enhancements.  No service disruption is anticipated.

HRIS System Update - 9/29

HRIS maintenance has been completed.

History:
We are performing an update to the HRIS system on Saturday.  The system will remain up during this update.  Some users may experience slowness.  Maintenance should be completed by 5 pm on Saturday.

K-State Attendance and Photo Roster Down

The issue  has been resolved. 

History:
The K-State Attendance and Photo Roster applications in Canvas are currently non-functional. ITS staff have been made aware of the problem and are working toward a solution.

FIS issues 9/25

FIS is currently down due to complications related to storage. Staff are working on bringing it back up.

NTS will be performing network maintenance on the Athletics Complex wireless network on Saturday (9/22) from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM.  Intermittent wireless outages across the K-State Athletics complex are expected during this time.

Scantron

The main campus Scantron machine is working.

History:
The main campus Scantron machine located at the IT Help Desk is currently down.  A replacement has been ordered and already shipped. It should arrive Wednesday.

KEAS Password Change

Cardwell Hall Electrical Outage 9/15

Weber Hall Phone Issue 9/5/2018

The phone service has been restored.

History:
Due to damage caused by recent flooding, phone service to Weber Hall has been impacted. ITS is currently working to repair the damage and get phone service up and running. 

Network Maintance 9/7/2018

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
September 7 ITS will be doing maintenance starting between 7:00-7:30 am to www.k-state.edu.  There could be a few service interruptions at this time.

Cardwell Hall Electrical Outage 9/8/2018

The power has been restored to Cardwell Hall.

History:
A scheduled electrical outage is to take place in Cardwell Hall on 9/8 from 6am to 6pm. Service interruptions are to be expected.

Phone Issues

 ITS is continuing to work on a resolution to the analog phones issues. Impacted service areas include Leadership Studies, International Student Center, Weber, Call, Pittman, Davenport, Stone House Daycare, Child Care Development, Coles, Trotter, Mosier, Edwards, Rec Complex, & Pat Roberts Hall. We apologize for the inconvenience.

History:
Information Technology Services continues to have issues with analog phones in the Vet Med complex and is in the process of working to resolve the issues. The resolution is ongoing and we apologize for the inconvenience. 

Canvas (KSOL) degraded performance - 8/28

The matter has been resolved.  If you have any issues contact the IT Help Desk.

Telephone issues

The phone services appear to have been restored. If you notice any issues please contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722. 

History: 
The phone system that services areas in Edwards including the KSU Police, Jardine and the Veterinary Medicine complex have been impacted by a water line break. Phone service will be spotty. Network and Telecommunications are working to resolve the issue.

Change Freeze Maintenance - 8/13 to 8/24

The maintenance has been completed

History:
ITS will observe a change freeze of ITS production services 12:01 a.m., Mon., Aug. 13 to 11:59 p.m., Fri., Aug. 24. The main goal of this change freeze is to protect critical K-State enterprise systems from changes that are potentially disruptive to beginning and end-of-semester activities. The change freeze does not include tasks related to the fulfillment of Telecom work orders, troubleshooting and resolving system issues, and completing critical projects related to the on-going recovery efforts from the Hale fire. In these cases, ITS will work with the impacted users to identify windows of time that would create the least amount of disruption to their workflow.

Network Maintenance

NTS will be performing network maintenance beginning Wednesday (8/15) 10pm, through Thursday (8/16) 4am.  The maintenance is part of the recovery efforts from the Hale fire.  On-campus users may experience up to 20 minutes of network service loss during the maintenance window.

NTS will be performing network maintenance on Saturday, August 4th, from 12:01am to 6:00am.  Users will experience periodic disruptions to network services, on both wired and wireless connections, during the maintenance window.  Off-campus users can also expect disruptions when accessing on-campus resources.

Network Maintenance in Waters Hall - 8/06

History:
NTS will be performing network maintenance in Waters Hall, from 10:00pm to 12:00pm tonight - August 6, 2018.  Users may experience a brief outage in both wired and wireless connectivity during the maintenance window.

PaperCut Maintenance - 8/07

History:
ITAC will be performing maintenance on PaperCut on Tuesday, August 7^th, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Printing in computer labs may be unavailable during this time.

LISTSERV maintenance - 8/01

 The LISTSERV upgrade was not successful.  We've reverted back to the previous version and it is up and running again.

History:
EST will be performing an upgrade on the campus LISTSERV server on Wednesday (8/1) from 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm.  Any messages sent during this time will be queued for later delivery.

Code 42 Classic (CrashPlan) upgrade - 8/01

In the next few days device clients will update to the current versions.

EST will be upgrading the Code 42 Classic (previously known as CrashPlan) authentication server on Wednesday (8/1) at 4:30 pm. No outage is expected.
