Canvas Maintenance - 03/27/20

Canvas will conduct server maintenance 11 p.m., Saturday, March 28 through 1 a.m., Sunday, March 29. Users may experience intermittent interruptions when uploading or viewing hosted audio and video in Canvas during the maintenance.

Increasing numbers of fraudulent schemes warns FBI and DOJ - 03/27/2020

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are warning consumers about increasing numbers of fraudulent schemes spoofing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) with information related to COVID-19. In an alert, the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center warns consumers about the various phishing scams, which might be in the form of an email, text or phone call or robocall and associated with the stimulus check (requesting you give your credentials or bank information), information about someone testing positive at K-State, health insurance, selling fake products, etc.

The Polytechnic campus connectivity to the Manhattan campus and the internet is down. NTS is working with KanREN to restore services as quickly as possible.

History:
This weekend is our monthly maintenance for FIS with Sierra-Cedar. FIS will be unavailable Saturday, March 21st 6pm through Sunday, March 22nd 6pm. This is planned maintenance that is scheduled every month.

Notification of two iTAC helpdesk email addresses used for servicing requests

As we continue to work remotely, the help desk wishes to inform the campus community we will be sending notifications from two email addresses helpdesk@ksu.edu and servicedesk@ksu.edu instead of  just one for improved efficiency during this transition time.  As requests slow down we will go back to using servicedesk@ksu.edu.  Remember, if you receive an email that may pretend to be the helpdesk or is just suspicious in nature leaving you with doubts please forward it to abuse@ksu.edu.

K-State Alerts COVID-19 Update - 03/12/2020

Microsoft Teams Issues 02/3/2020

This issue has been resolved by Microsoft.

History:
Microsoft has determined that an authentication certificate has expired causing users who have logged out and those that are still logged in to have an issue using the service. Microsoft is developing a fix to apply a new authentication certificate to the service which will remediate impact.  Microsoft has confirmed that reports of impact to other Teams features such as chat history visibility and Auto Attendant functionality are related to this authorization issue.

Users may be unable to access Microsoft Teams. Microsoft is investigating an issue where users may be unable to access Microsoft Teams. Microsoft is reviewing systems data to determine the cause of the issue.  This issue may potentially affect anyone attempting to access Microsoft Teams. The move has been completed.

History:
LISTSERV will be down over the lunch hour on Oct. 31 while it is moved to a new server. Any messages sent to it will be queued and delivered when it's brought back up on the new server. You will not be able to sign in to listserv.ksu.edu during this time.

History:
The K-State Undergraduate Admissions Application will be unavailable Wednesday, November 14 from approximately 3am-5am while it is migrated to the cloud. 

Wireless Network maintenance Main Campus, Olathe, Athletics Complex - 11/09

The maintenance has been completed.

History:
NTS will be performing network maintenance to the wireless infrastructure on main campus, Olathe, and in the athletics complex.  Maintenance will begin 11/9/19 at 10pm and continue through 2am on 11/10/19.  We do not anticipate loss of wireless service during this maintenance period.  This maintenance will not impact wireless services in the Residence Halls and Jardine Apartments, and the Polytechnic campus.

FIS Issues

FIS Issue has been resolved.

History:
Preliminary reports indicate a database issue. ITS staff are working to resolve the issue.

Office 365 Missing data

ITS continues to restore Office365 data and is about a third of the way through.

History:
ITS is ready to restore the missing items to the Office 365 tenant.   In addition to restoring the missing data reported yesterday, users may also see items they purposely deleted restored if they deleted any Office 365 items between 9:45AM and 10:25AM yesterday.  This will be a normal behavior for the process we will execute.   We are giving advance notice in case users have questions about data that was deleted purposefully showing up again.

ITS is actively troubleshooting an issue with data missing from the user’s Office 365 accounts that could include, email, calendar entries, and other types of files.

Authentication maintenance - 01/12

History:
This Sunday, Jan 12 from 7am-10am, we will migrate these remaining IDM services. During the maintenance period there will be brief outage to authentication resources.

Papercut Maintenance - 1/14/2020

Papercut print management system update completed.
History:
ITS will be updating the Papercut print management system on Tuesday 1/14/2020 at 7 AM.  The service will be unavailable during the upgrade.  This includes the Papercut website, Web Print, and printing in the computer labs.  The outage is scheduled to last no longer than 2 hours.


KSU Innovation Center Network Maintenance - 1/18/2020

History:
ITS will be performing network infrastructure maintenance in the KSU Innovation Center on 1/18/2020 from 1pm to 5pm.  This maintenance will affect both wired and wireless connectivity during the maintenance window.

ITS will be performing maintenance on the Undergraduate Admissions Application on Sunday 12/29/19 from 10 p.m. to midnight CST. Prospective students will not be able to apply for admission during this time.

History:
The Identity Management Database Migration maintenance is being planned from 12/29/19 10 p.m. CST to 12/30/19 1 p.m. CST.

The following items will be affected: eProfile, IDM Services, IDM Support, Grouper, IDM Sanity Checker, Person Database, CAS Passthroughs, Shibboleth, Single Sign-On)

New account creation, provisioning, and password changes will be non-functional during this time. During the maintenance period, there may be brief interruptions to authentication resources. We apologize for any inconvenience that this maintenance may cause.
