KSU Phone System Emergency Maintenance 4/29/2021

The maintenance has been completed.

NTS will be performing emergency maintenance on the phone system tonight (4/29/21) from 9pm to 10pm.  The maintenance will impact all phone services on the Manhattan campus, and long-distance services on the Olathe and Polytechnic campuses.   We anticipate phones will lose connectivity for approximately 5 minutes during the maintenance period.  Voicemail will also be affected during this time.

Outlook Signatures Working Improperly (04/23/2021)

 
Final status: We've confirmed that the fix has successfully completed deployment throughout the affected environment and we've verified with affected users that this action has alleviated the problem.
Scope of impact: Users with existing email signatures or users attempting to add new email signatures using Outlook on the web were experiencing this issue.
Start time: Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 8:10 PM (4/15/2021, 1:10 AM UTC)
End time: Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 12:00 AM (5:00 AM UTC)
Root cause: A recent Outlook on the web update introduced a code issue, resulting in the impact.
Next steps: - We're reviewing our update validation and testing processes to better identify similar code issues impacting email signatures to prevent similar problems from happening again in the future.
 
History:
Current Status: We've successfully validated the fix, which took longer than anticipated. We've starting deploying it to the affected environment and expect the deployment to complete by Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at approximately 7:30 PM UTC.

We've developed and are validating a fix which we expect to be ready for deployment in the next few hours and complete by our next scheduled update on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

User Impact: Users on Outlook on the web are noticing that signatures in email messages aren't showing up as expected.
 
More info: Users with email signatures already attached notice that the signature isn't appearing when creating new emails.
 
Users may also notice that options "Automatically include my signature on new messages that I compose" and "Automatically include my signature on messages I forward or reply to" are appearing as unchecked after refreshing.
 
Current status: The provided network trace logs were inconclusive as there weren't any identifiable errors seen. We're reaching out to additional users to provide additional logging for further review.

History:

E-mails sent with webmail may have incorrect or missing personal signatures at this time. Our vendor is aware and working towards a resolution.
